Fritz Schmidt Metallgießerei GmbH & Co. KG is a successful, medium-sized aluminum die casting foundry in Meckenheim near Bonn with a 75-year company tradition.

With approximately 200 employees and using state-of-the-art machinery and manufacturing processes, we develop, design, and produce high-precision aluminum die-cast parts in close cooperation with our renowned customers, meeting high standards of quality and reliability.

Our value chain encompasses the entire manufacturing process, from expert advice and support during planning to tool design and subsequent mold construction. Through die casting, mechanical processing, leak testing, impregnation, and subsequent surface finishing, we deliver ready-to-install products to our discerning customers.

To support our maintenance team, we are looking for a

Industrial fitter/industrial mechanic (m/f/d) full-time (40 hours)

Your responsibilities include…

• Ensuring the operational readiness of industrial plants through regular maintenance, inspection, and servicing
• Troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and rectification of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
• Assistance with the installation, commissioning, and optimization of new machines and plants
• Collaborating with production teams to minimize downtime
• Internal transport of production equipment
• Carrying out building repair work (doors, gates, windows)
• Assisting with safety inspections and implementing corrective measures
• Checking and replacing wear parts, as well as documenting the work carried out.
• Compliance with quality and environmental standards, as well as operational regulations

What you bring to the table…

• Completed training as an industrial mechanic, mechatronics engineer, or comparable qualification (e.g., state-certified industrial mechanic)
• Professional experience in the maintenance, repair, and commissioning of industrial plants
• In-depth knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Fair knowledge of the electrical/electronic systems of machines is an advantage
• Problem-solving-oriented, independent way of working
• Good written and spoken German
• Welding experience desirable
